Why in the fuck other than for the plot would the epitaph of the first person on Mars include that he was named after his failson uncle who presumably died before he was born? By that point literally who cares? I got my middle name from my grandfather but that doesn't mean it's going on my tombstone.
So he got named after a brother instead of a dad! Wow better spend more words on that than going to fucking Mars
And he does heartfelt things for a girl he has unrequited feelings for, you sobbing little baby
It was probably because he attributed most of his success to a lucky charm he received from his father that had originally belonged to his uncle. If I was super successful and thought the main reason why was because my dead uncle had left me some magic totem of success I’d probably leave a shrine to the dude.
The only thing stopping man from walking on Mars right now is that we lack the seven leafy clover. We're up to five and a half now
I mean presumably Fry's brother mythologised him to his son, and it served as an inspiration. Maybe his failson uncle is what inspired him to seek out a career in space exploration, which is why he wanted the little blurb on the tombstone.
Or the writers needed it for the bit, who can say.
should I start watching futurama? I watched disenchantment on Netflix and thought it was pretty gud, idk something about groeningmation just works for me
Futurama is amazing. Classic Simpsons is still unbeatable but Futurama comes close. I personally couldn't stand Disenchantement
First few seasons of Futurama (before the reboot) are excellent. Post reboot is worse, but there's still some good stuff in there.
Even then I'd hope he'd moved on enough by that time to maybe let his son's death be about his son. Like there's grief then there's fucked up.
Badly worded. Either way he got married and had a kid and stuff. Doesn't seem like he obsessed over Fry his whole life or anything.
