Ahmed Chalabi was an iraqi exile and one of the main architects of the invasion of Iraq. He would lie to anyone who would listen about all the horrible things that Sadam Hussein was doing, and that he had weapons of mass destruction, and was throwing infants out of hospital windows or whatever. Vetting of his information from CIA/other intelligence sources found that he was a huge fucking liar and that nothing he said could be corroborated, and that he was clearly trying to topple Hussein as a power grab in Iraq.

But powerful people in the Bush administration liked the lies he was telling, so they kept distributing his lies as fact right up until after we invaded Iraq and oh whooooops there aren't any WMD's here who could have known, well aw shucks we're already here, so Chalabi do you want to run your own PMC outfit? have fun dude you're earned it

but at least he could claim, unlike zenz, that he fucking had been to iraq and spoke the damn language. If you want to hear more of his antics, he somehow appears in almost every episode of the Blowback podcast that Brendan James and Noah Kulwin did about the Iraq war

Yes, actually I remember quite a few instances where things simple enough for me to understand as a child had to be “corrected” out of me and this was one of them. I was like “why is it ok for the US to have nukes but nobody else”? And my dad said it was because the US is good and those other countries are bad lol
