i gotta believe some of them are there cause they genuinely want to help people but like
why aren't they stealing information? why don't they disperse trade secrets that could save thousands of lives? julius and ethel rosenberg fucking died to ensure the US wouldn't be the only ones with atomic weapons but y'all can't risk getting fucking fired to save lives?
DPRK was recently accused of stealing a western covid vaccine formula. It does happen. I know quite a few low level pharmacists and people who have done research etc. Trust me, it would be harder to hate pharma companies more than them, it's one of the most clear cut means of production issues you could have. People got into this either cause they like doing drugs or want to cure disease and the latter will totally cure some diseases if given the chance as well.
The price gouging of insulin and other essential drugs continues to be one of the most evil things America wreaks upon its citizens. :gui-better: :gui-better: :gui-better: :gui-better: :gui-better: :gui-better: :gui-better: :gui-better:
Martin Shkreli should have been beheaded.
If you take insulin or a specialty medication and have insurance, Go to the manufactures website and look for a "copay card". If they don't have one find a manufacture that does.
Nah, what I'm suggesting is that we seize the insulin factories and execute the bosses
I don't think the people working 9-5 are making those decisions. Like everyone else, they're trying to put food on the table and a roof over their head.
The board of directors, stakeholders and actual decision makers get the fucking wall.
Sales reps are irredeemable, they were the frontlines of the opioid crisis.
I once met this girl who was studying 'Hospital Management' at a good university. Can you imagine the kind of soul crushing cretin that would go into the most loathsome side of health care and start preying on people in their most vulnerable state?
I told her I'm not interested and explained that she would be the enemy in a worker's revolution. (In reality, she was utterly disgusted by the mere look of me)
The sad part is there are so many people who think they are actually good people because they are part of a company the cures or helps people. I knew a guy who is a chemical engineer and he made drugs for some type of cancer and he was really proud of his work in helping people (who can afford it) but there was virtually 0 concerns for the thousands or more who will struggle or never be able to pay for it. The company does that thing where they go on about how they are pioneers and saving the world! So it just isn't a factor to most of them.
I can't blame the folks with no control over the prices, but at least be conscious of what the company is really doing with your work.
Let's also not forget all of the people who do this kind of work in universities and other public institutions, only to have a private company profit off of their research. Our whole society is geared towards funneling money and power towards the top, and it's impossible not to contribute to it in some fashion.
Fuck the pharma CEOs, but what's the alternative to working for big pharma if you're a scientist and you want to make drugs that cure things?
China :xi-lib-tears:
Cuba :che-smile:
Vietnam :uncle-ho-2:
Kerala 🚜 (we need a Kerala emote)
moving to another country with a functioning healthcare system is nearly impossible.
If you don't mind teaching English, then you can definitely find stuff in China.
Oh, it's not just holding life saving medicine for ransom. Profit corrupts the entire pharmaceutical investment model.
It'll be fun when we get to Nuremberg the board of directors of every one of these ghoulish fucking companies that reap federal funding and then charge out the ass to the taxpayer, essentially "double dipping" everyone who isn't a paragon of health. Fucking monsters in humanskins.
Go to the manufacture website and see if they have a program to help you out. (typically they only help the insured but you never know)
