Everything he does makes sense once you realise he literally only makes stuff because he thinks it looks cool. Joker as Jesus is not a deep metaphor, he just looked at it and thought “dude that’s sick”
Apparently he adapted Watchmen (and is going to do the Fountainhead) only because he likes how much sex and murder there is
He started in advertising and films every shot like a commerical
He watched the original Dawn Of The Dead and was probably like "this shit is boring, who cares that the cops are killing poor black people in the beginning, so what if the movie is trying to warn us about consumerism, where's the boobies, the explosions??"
He completely reverses the themes of Dawn of the Dead, and codes the zombies as the other . Just like what he did with Watchmen, glorifying everything Alan Moore intended to criticize. Shit, he did it to Superman too. All this guy does is utterly misunderstand his source material and adapt it into the thematic opposite. Is it intentional? I feel like he's just really that dumb.

Think so, he strikes me as a dumb guy that can't into nuance.
The Maggie Mae Fish videos on him are great. Dude can only interpret things via Randian Objectivism with a healthy amount of christian savior imagery. And of course putting in as much toxic masculinity as he can get away with.
Also his CGI style may be very aesthetic but it looks like total crap.

I find it amazing how he pre tty much did a panel for panel adaptation and still managed to completely miss the point. Artistic achievement isn’t the right word, but it is amazing. I think he does so much slow motion because that’s the actual speed he processes his surroundings.
