"Let me be very clear - if we fail in this legislation, I will be back. We’re going to keep going it takes 10 votes. We are going to raise that minimum wage very shortly to $15 an hour.”

He's probably gonna lose but at least I'm seeing some goddamn fight in this man. So many people busted their asses to get this worthless party in power, we've earned the fifteen dollars and we're this close to getting over the finish line.

I heard my CNN dad talking about it the other day.

When I brought it up, my father said that procedure should be followed and if the Parliamentarian says raising the minimum wage as part of the stimulus, it should not be done.

The response I had was that overruling the Parliamentarian, or even replacing them, is an allowed procedure.

Right? It literally doesn't matter. The constitution is a fucking joke, but even it says the chambers of congress are the ultimate authority on how they are governed. Just change the fuckin rules god damn.

Fucking liberals are still trying to make the excuse that it has to be implemented years from now because otherwise it will cause mass unemployment. How fucking many times does that claim have to be refuted? Fuck I hate liberals.

EDIT: I'm still hung up on the fucking absurdity of this talking point, like seriously, "naw dawg, businesses need a whole four years to figure out how to adjust their pay-scales otherwise they'll only be able to respond by fucking firing everyone en-masse, leaving them with drastically reduced ability to meet demand."

Fucking nevermind the fact that various places have locally increased min-wages without such issue, nevermind the various economic studies finding that no, actually more money means increased demand because people have more money to buy shit, and that can actually produce more employment later on to meet that increased demand, you dumb fucking cunts.
