1.People ask for Diamond and Pearl to be remade
2.Nintendo remakes them
3.People get mad
G*mers were a mistake
(but really I just wanted to post this picture 'cause I think it's funny. Heh, pee)
The remakes look so bad. People were reasonably expecting them to be like the last three remakes where they add new features and remake the region in the current style. No one asked for glorified ports that look like mobile games.
I mean, I get if you don't like the art style but I think they were chibi in the original so maybe that's what they were going for.
It hasn't even been released yet so I have no idea if they're going to be good. I'm just poking fun at the strong reaction gamers seem to have over minor things.
How did people react to Links Awakenings art style? I don't remember people being as pissed but then again I wasn't paying much attention.
They werent really chibi, they were technological limitations. There are only so many pixels you can put on a nintendo ds screen. As soon as they had the games on the 3ds and could have more than left pixel and right pixel, the games were not chibi.
This is my thought exactly. Personally I think they need to give their devs waaaaay more time. The biggest problem is they are too rushed.
Reeeeeeaaaaaaaaaly hoping that Legends doesn't absolutely chug and go to fuck all FPS like the Wild Area does in Sword/Shield though
I feel like that is half caused by it being an online area and Nintendo's inability to make an online service without colossal jank
I played a lot of time in Sword and Shield offline, and the framerate in the Wild Area only really started chugging on the few occasions I went online. Then it could become nigh unplayable.
I've skipped the last few Pokemons, but that one I'm gonna play.
In the meantime, there was a legendary Pokemon Crystal romhack that was open world called Crystal Clear. Might be worth replaying.
Yeah! I'm indifferent to the remakes, but the open world pokemon game they're making looks pretty sweet.
Plus they have my boy Rowlet as a starter
the chibi art style isnt great but neither is the recent main style. Im happy its top-down again though. 3D was a mistake.
Everybody has different tastes when it comes to art style. I'm pretty indifferent to the chibi look. I just hope it isn't as dumbed down as Lets Go was. If they have the full pokedex, don't dumb down the meta and have the battle frontier, then I'll be happy.
My guess is it's going to be like the other remakes for better or for worse.
That's a normal response to a remake of something to be fair.
IMO the only good remake of a game is FF7:Remake but we only have the start of that game so I'm ready for that to suck in the future.
i like 3d "chibi" art styles i really dont get why people hate on them so much other than it gets used in mobile games a lot and there this "mobile always bad" attitude among gamers. (yes the prevalence of predatory microtransactions and other things are super awful in mobile but the graphics aren't really involved in that)
granted the execution in the remakes isn't perfect, they could have gone for something closer to link's awakening's remake but I see people dog on that style of graphics all the time in other lesser known indie games but I like it.
The art style for the remake feels like a 3d version of third and fourth gen. I am quite excited for it. This feels like what 3d pokemon should be.
They'd probably have less problems like that if they'd take their freaking time polishing the games but gotta milk that cash cow
Sword and Shield could be really good games if they finished the animations and didn’t drop 400 Pokémon. They push them out too fast, we don’t need a new Pokémon game every single year.
I am looking forward to remakes and legends, I think they already look like an improvement from both SwSh and SuMo. I do wish that everything had an outline tho, I do think it looks much better and significantly less flat.
I mean, you can always just play it on an emulator.
Wish the Switch had a better virtual console though
lol, I think it can be done, it's just really convoluted. I think you can transfer them to one of the DS games if you have an old DS with a GBA port, then transfer them to Bank, then transfer them to Home.
Why they made a whole new thing instead of just updating Bank is beyond me.
nah they usually include the special edition shit in the remakes.
God damn I hate the final mix, G, Royal, deluxe, ultimate edition a year later shit gaming companies do though. Peak capitalism.
