    The US constitution must be destroyed for real political change to occur in the US. A party system created before the creation of the urban working class (which is exactly what happened in the US) will only create institutions that can oppose working class projects

      Agreed.

      One thing that I think about a lot is how political disagreements in the US just don't work the same way that they did in the 1780s. At that time, political disagreements were primarily about geography and the distinctions between the different states, and the constitution was designed with that in mind. Now, political disagreements are about some combination of the following:

      • class conflict
      • demographics
      • culture wars
      • partisanship
      • ideology

      with distinctions between states being more or less irrelevant. But we're still stuck with a constitution that was designed to resolve geographic-based conflicts but isn't very good at resolving partisan/class/cultural conflicts.
