How do you accept that someone can be straight and accept that someone can be gay but then insist that, for no reason, it has to be strictly one or the other? It's so funny to me like why would you expect that to be the case
A lot of the times I've experienced biphobia, I've found it to be rooted in relational insecurity, and outright homophobia, but also a lot of relational insecurity.

But what's going on in their heads? Why deny the existence of bi people instead of just hating us like a normal bigot?
I'm bi and in my opinion the bi flag is one of the worst LGBT flags. The colours are dark, boring and lack contrast. The trans flag or the lesbian flag with the cool axe are much better.

If we’re talking people who are cool with straight and gay people but have a problem with bi people specifically: it’s usually a relationship insecurity think.
The assume bi people need constant sexual gratification from both genders and as such are incapable of true monogamy because if they end up with a male partner they will soon yearn for a female one and cheat, and if they end up with a female partner they’ll soon yea... well you get the idea. So they create this narrative that bi people are just going through some hyper sexual stage of their life where they’ll accept any gratification and if they want a more stable relationship they’ll have to ID what gender they actually want to be with.

My guess is people think bi people are less faithful because they are attracted to more people.

Trying to find logic in bigotry is a futile effort. It almost always is just assholes trying whatever they can to put others down so they stroke their own over-inflated egos or find an easy target for their sadistic urges. If bi people didn’t exist, they would just find another minority that is still somewhat acceptable to discriminate against, and make up a bunch of bullshit again to justify their hatred.
Maybe partly cuz their internalized homophobia tells them everyone must have some gender they are disgusted of. They can see that a gay person isnt disgusted of their partner, but when a bi person is with someone, they dont see that there is no disgust for genders they are not currently with, so they assume the person is just gay/straight based on who theyre with right now. Since theyre disgusted with the idea of being with someone of a gender theyre not attracted to, they cant empathise that not everyone feels that way, to them its like being asked to imagine a color that doesnt exist.
