      The only reason anyone cares is because of 8 Mile. He would have been 100x less relevant if that movie never came out.

        The only reason anyone cares about 8 Mile is because he was an extremely successful musician. 8 mile was literally just “Eminem: The Movie.”

        That movie only got made because the Marshall Mather's LP sold like 3 million copies in a week. Eminem was absolutely massive before 8 Mile.

          You're right. The movie definitely introduced him to a more diverse audience of suburban mom's and dads though. My parents didn't know about Eminem until they saw the movie lol. It kinda gave him a presence beyond just his mediocre rap.

      He had some good underground / mix tape stuff going around in the Napster days. Just crazy off the wall shit. Not into the new stuff when he started changing his cadence and style.
