How long until white nationalists and suburban hunters are taken off the endangered species list? There are plenty of them and I want my yearly hunt!

Wonder how much of this is prompted by hunters wanting more deer or elk. I know that a lot of Swedish hunters that are anti wolf specifically because it has caused the amount of moose meat they get during the yearly moose hunt to plummet.

Seems quite reckless to me. Almost as if it was a political statement they were making

There is constant anti-wolf agitation from hunters I know. They've managed to launder themselves into somehow being the custodians of nature. I know Norwegians who are mostly just afraid of that wolves will eat them when they go "ut på tur" (Norwegians have managed to convince themselves that they're special for taking nature hikes) or farmers who don't want to wolf-proof their livestock (this also somewhat coincides with Sami people, the reindeer industry as it exists today is largely dependent on having few predators, there are bears and wolverines, but wolves would be an entirely different kettle of fish).

But the reason for that aggrivation among hunters is often that they get 50-100 kg less meat from the hunt, which is a material consequence of introducing natural predators into the system.

i feel like there should be some legislation that you have to eat what you kill. would deter this kinda shit.

No one eats wolves - its pretty awful meat. There are legitimate reasons for hunting some creatures en-masse and not eating them, such as for invasive nutria and wild hogs.

The solution here to make it illegal to hunt wolves and to put them back on protected species lists.

i dunno, i disagree. not with making it illegal to hunt wolves and putting them back on the protected species list, but i think forcing people who want to kill shit to eat that shit is a good move.

wild hogs might be gamey and not optimal, but the bottom line is a lot of hunters do that shit not out of necessity but because they want to kill shit, and if they want to kill shit i think they should have to eat it.

if we want to do it mathematically and have the government control the population, that would probably be optimal, but if we're just going to leave it up to jim bob and chet, if they wanna kill it they should eat it.
