    In the city traffic game, the marginal utility of each additional horsepower in a car’s engine was awfully close to zero

    Nowhere on earth is this more apparent than Wilshire Blvd between Santa Monica and San Vicente. All that HP and you'd be lucky to find a street on the westside where a Lambo can get out of 2nd gear.

    This piece seems to be impugning our beloved trains almost as much as cars. I can't say I love that. I wish the piece had gone into specifics on public transportation (or linked to something that did) rather than solely on cars (after all, I already knew car bad).
