    it simply is, so neither.

Are you cold? it will warm you up.

Are you sad? It will blur out your sorrows.

Are you angry? It will add weight to your fists.

Are you filled with despair? It will deepen the abyss.

Your comment reads like the detailed, semi-cryptic description of a potion in a RPG.

It's fun. It makes people lower their inhibitions and destress enough to have fun too. It's dead easy to make so it's not like banning it is going to work anyway.

Of course there are people who have problems with alcohol. While I don't think that it'd solve every problem associated with alcohol I do kind of think that improving stuff like mental health provision and making everyone's lives less stressful and precarious would go some way to solving those problems. Well adjusted, happy people do not regularly get blackout drunk after all.

I am personally not a fan of it bc it tastes gross. Being drunk is ok at parties but otherwise not for me.

I think getting drunk more than like once a week is really pushing it. I'm including getting tipsy in that, and getting very drunk even less frequent. I think alcohol is more foe than friend just looking at the amount of harm it causes. It can be fun sometimes but many people are reliant on it.

That being said, things like prohibition are very silly. Maybe I would feel differently if I enjoyed alcohol more or if I was close with somebody who abused it, but just my views.

Both!- source: I'm an alcoholic, slowly getting a handle. That being said I can do fucking heroin casually but have been hooked on booze since I was 15 or so. That being said being a drunk crust punk did give me a lack of fuck giving that let me do a lot more neat stuff than most so yeah, it's a relationship.

Opposite situation here. Opioids basically destroyed my life, but I somehow manage to drink responsibly.

Regardless of the substance though, addiction is a struggle. Wish you luck, comrade.

I think partly it's cause I knew what I was getting into with opiates ahead of time where booze is just so normalized it's harder to see it for what it is. If alcohol wasn't cheaper and more available I'd probably be hooked on opiates cause they're genuinely better. I use them or benzos when I need to take a booze break. I've been managing an okay tapering but I'm going back to working again for the first time since last year and it's ten hour days and that's gonna be harder

Yeah, anyone experimenting with opiates needs to have a healthy respect for them ahead of time, that certainly helps. I myself went into them just after realizing DARE had lied to me about weed, so I was kinda screwed in that regard lmao.

Still, there are a ton of horror stories of people who thought they could chip having their habit suddenly catch up to them. It really does come out of nowhere at times. The moment you realize you're using to stay well rather than for pleasure is the moment you need to back off. But often times by then it's too late. Be careful out there.

Huge trigger for me and my depression and suicide. I relatively know my limits and avoid liquor tho.
