People from Britain join Red Fightback . AMA about why we're the only decent Marxist org on nonce island.
What has happened with momentum since Keir Starmer took over?
From what I remember there was a split in momentum when he first became leader and they've been pretty neutered since. The Labour right have cracked down on the left of the party including blocking left wing candidates from running for party positions.
There was kind of a 50/50 split with some people leaving the party cuz of this direction and the others saying we should stay and try to push it left still.
Starmer has completely tanked in support since suspending Corbyn and he'll likely get merc'd at local elections in May so there might be a leadership challenge then but the Labour left is gonna be dead for a while.
It’s funny because I expected the worst in terms of how keir starmer would do, and he’s exceeded my expectations all the way down. Lmao incredible job of killing off Labour forever
yea im curious because i only ever hear bad things about starmer. does he have a single redeeming quality?
PSL is great but whenever i see the name my brain immediately springs to Pod Save Lesbians. i know it doesnt stand for that
The best org is the one with projects in your local area
Contrary to popular belief, DSA has people who actually read theory and organize. Sure, there are plenty of libs, but that's the nature of working class movements. Check the chapter in your area to see what they're doing.
Not really directly organizing, but helping all other groups that face repression:
If you are in Germany: Support / join Rote Hilfe (Red Aid).
Also you can find out which orgs are cool by looking at the "Left Wing extremism" section on the yearly report of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution.
