I see them as flash points in the imperial core who's violence is being turned inwards. Just really bleak shit, nowhere is safe, not even at a bowling alley.
after Sandy Hook happened and no one did anything about it, it became clear that mass shootings were just going to be treated like they're endemic. every couple days you'll hear about one and move on with your day. fact of nature, we just can't do anything about it.
I feel like Columbine was when the window to do something about it opened, and Sandy Hook was when it was firmly shut.
Their was a mass shooting in my area a couple years back at a store. Same chain store my mom used to work at. I remember waking up to the news and calling my mom who was on night shift to make sure she was okay, so it hits close to home. It could have been her if the cards lined up a different way.
They're a normalized pressure valve that kills a few dozen people at the time while maintaining the sociopolitical and material status quo that keeps resulting in those shootings.
Gun culture really is a sickness in the U.S.
Nobody has the balls to put strict gun control laws in place. Weak politicians are very much to blame for all the innocent deaths.
The Black Panthers scared so much that the NRA and its political puppets approved of gun restrictions in the first place.
I'll never forget what did with kids' free lunches in black communities, either.
My pet theory is that gun control will only tighten if for some reason the drug war ends. Itd be the perfect replacement.
Yaahhhh I mean I would be up for gun control ig if they could actually get them out of the hands of fascists bur as long as they have guns I want some too because fuck that
Also the fact that we know for certain that absolutely nothing will be done about it and there's absolutely no reason why the exact same thing couldn't happen again tomorrow.
Just prepping for the next hot phase of the civil war that never ended.
he should've burned more slavers instead of the whole genocide part of his career
Uvalde was the only one in at least a year that made me feel anything.
