Yeah that shit is getting out of hand. Like if you're calling the people defending their right to ancestral fishing territory in Canada barbarians you can fuck aaaaaalllll the way off.

Maybe don't use culture as a shield to deflect from the issue at hand (cruelty)? If a group practiced human sacrifice would you defend that just because it was their "ancestral right"?

Tell me how indigenous people in Northern Canada should sustainably live off of the land without consuming any animal products.

Notice how you derail the discussion by concern trolling about "sustainability", instead of arguing against what I actually said.

Honestly, if we found an uncontacted culture somewhere that practices human sacrifice among themselves, I wouldn't support Westerners intervening to stop it.

Okay, you want to go teach the Sentinel islanders the virtues of veganism? Absolutist positions like this are absurd.

I answered your question straightforwardly. Now tell me how indigenous people in Northern Canada should sustainably live off of the land without consuming any animal products.

It is a fact that the world will have to go vegan. If living off the land is a must, then I don't have a solution for you. But if living off the land necessitates suffering, maybe investing in infrastructure that enables an alternative lifestyle is preferable. But no, that would be "cultural genocide".

Nah it's because a lot of these vegan posts are straying into super racist territory. And I was defending you guys last night in this post https://hexbear.net/post/94298. I almost regret it except that the person also started telling people to self harm.

Maybe focus on the industrial commercial fisheries instead of bullying indigenous people off the site? Get your priorities straight.

got banned for pointing out the material limitations on veganism in the arctic circle, including increased carbon footprints.

Said that while pointing out factory farming needs to be stopped and I go days at a time without buying/eating meat.

The comm is overran by utopian idealists pretending they are the real Marxists who are saving the earth.

murder: the premeditated killing of one human being by another

"animals are mindless creatures whose suffering is acceptable because the legal definition of 'murder' is limited to humans" I see we've reached the stage of haranguing about what the dictionary definition of a word is instead of actually addressing the issue
