Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, and Mad Men are shows about cool guys who do cool things, and you should emulate them to be cool too.

I'm finally watching Mad Men cause people say it's good and I got around to it. I really really don't get the hype. I'm part way through season two and im finding it really bland. I don't mind slow moving shit or whatever but I'm not really sure what this show is about other than 'the sixties happened and some characters experience some stuff'

You just described... all of fiction? Haha

That's kinda the problem, I'm not really getting anything I haven't seen before.

I mean, yeah, that is kind of all it's about. It's sort of a slow burn drama about the characters struggling to change and cope with their lives, and a study of the sixties as a time period.

I get it, and I'm totally going to end out watching the whole thing but I feel kinda teased along. With a few tweaks here and there I think I'd really like it, mostly in either focus on the office stuff or character stuff, it seems a bit muddled especially where it's not like wives are popping by the office all the time so with that it can sometimes feel like two different shows about two different aspects of the sixties and they commit harder to one side or the other or blend it better. That's why I haven't given up yet, it seems like the writers are still getting it together a bit
