You may remember this being cross-posted to the subreddit before it was nuked.
If the formatting on reddit makes it difficult to copy/paste:
I'm still seeding these between 02:00-09:00 UTC every day indefinitely, so you should be able to grab these without issue. Thanks to /u/Dark_Nuts for the collection.
I'm open to alternative places to host these if torrenting is too inconvenient.
!movies@hexbear.net cross posted it for you. Please use the relevant comms as much as possible.
Edit: I don't know how to cross-post to /c/movies, so if somebody would be so kind.
It's in the link to reddit in the OP, but here you go anyway:

Awesome, thank you
This is good in the case that that sub gets banned/goes private/etc
Some really great films on this list. Personal favourites of them are Yi Yi (not really leftist but idgaf it's a wonderful movie), The Battle of Algiers (amazing film about the Algerian revolution made by Marxists), Come and See (greatest war movie of all time, about a partisan fighter in Belarus during WWII), and Z (about an assassination and subsequent coup in Greece against a vaguely leftist opposition party who were about to win).
Thanks for the torrents! Does anyone have recommendations on what to watch first? I already saw Harlan County and I, Daniel Blake. Both are must-see classics. I also saw Killer of Sheep which was interesting but not very easy to watch.
I highly recommend Z. Up there for my favorite political film for a variety of reasons. I'd be happy to recommend more if you give me some idea of your taste.
Thanks for the rec!
My taste is pretty vanilla, most of my favourite movies are by the Coens (The Big Lebowski, Fargo, A Serious Man, Inside Llewyn Davis). Some other favourites include Children of Men, The Lobster, Her, Dazed and Confused, The Big Short, Goodfellas, Taxi Driver and so on.
I watched a bunch of classic movies in college (stuff like Persona, The Seventh Seal, 8 1⁄2, Breathless) and kinda hated most of them. I don't hate artsy movies but it has to be at least a little coherent, like Stalker for example. I'm also super into documentaries (Samsara is a good one) and TV shows (the Wire is my favourite).
Definite recommendations for you: Battle of Algiers, Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion, They Live, The Baader Meinhof Complex, Bacurau, Shoplifters, Kes
More artsy recs: Soy Cuba (narrative is straightforward but stylized in a way that might turn people off but it may be the most technically impressive film I've ever seen), Come and See (best war movie ever made, definitely know it's a brutal watch beforehand)
In another comment I mentioned some other leftist films. In terms of documentary definitely check out Finally Got the News which is on youtube and La Haine which should definitely appeal to your tastes.
tldr are any about mao? I really want a documentary on mao and china
Some more recommendations to potentially add if you don't mind. Also just thank you so much for putting this together, there definitely needs to be a more comprehensive leftist film canon.
-Finally Got the News (1970) -Black Panthers (1968) -The Gleaners and I (2000) -Night and Fog (1956) -Le Joli Mai (1963) -Battleship Potemkin (1925) -Cache (2005) -Love and Anarchy (1973) -La Haine (1995) -The Decameron (1971) -Vladimir and Rosa (1971) -The Working Class Goes to Heaven (1971) -One Sings, the Other Doesn't (1977) -A Drama of Jealousy (And Other Things) (1970) -Far from Vietnam (1967) -Mur Murs (1981) -Class Struggle (1969) -Weekend (1967) -Babylon (1980) -Slap the Monster on Page One (1972) -Here and Elsewhere (1976) -One Way or Another (1976) -Be Seeing You (1968) -Tout Va Bien (1972) -The Mattei Affair (1972) -The Organizer (1963) -Throw Away Your Books, Rally in the Streets (1971) -Blue Collar (1978) -Mr. Freedom (1968)
I don't know about Torrents, but do you like Snowpiercer, Parasite and such?
Hey comrade, I'm trying to grab the links, but it's copying them as the address for this post. I don't know if it's something to do with my browser or the formatting. Is there any other way to get the links?
Yeah I see what you mean. Try highlighting the URLs themselves and then use copy/ctrl+c instead of 'copy link location/address'.
That did it! I hadn't tried that because it seemed like the formatting had shortened the link, but it's all working. Thanks!
