    All the doctors are saying that my lungs are in terrible shape after having smoked three packs a day for decades and that I'm going to die real soon if I keep smoking.

    What do you say? Should I quit smoking? Stop being ridiculous, that would inconvenience me in the short term and make my ashtray collection useless. — I'm just going to wait for someone to invent a magical non-carcinogetic cigarette instead.

        Yeah, but just like climate change solutions and ICE alternatives, they were invented in the early 20th century and then covered up. They've also known since 1798 that smoking causes cancer.

      It's in the interest of the cigarette companies to keep you alive so you keep buying cigarettes. Therefore, I'm sure the invisible hand will have a solution to your health problems any day now.
