Yep. They were shouting "somos republica!" because Evo also changed the official name of the country from the Republic of Bolivia to the Plurinational State of Bolivia to recognize the indigenous nations that claimed the land. This also pissed off the racists and ever since just about every right-wing party has made it a plank of their platform to change the name back because they can't tolerate any recognition of the indigenous peoples
I say Evo changed the name, actually it was part of a new constitution written by a constituent assembly that the country overwhelmingly passed in a referendum. Damn authoritarian socialists letting the people write and vote for their own constitution 😤😤😤
