I heard some experts say that there won't be one, but I kind of feel like it's coming soon. If you look at past trends and how society is currently, it seems like it could happen any day now. I just want to hear those sweet ska beats again.
The amount of people who didn't get the joke in this thread is genuinely upsetting me
I missed the joke at first. I didn't pick up on any of the covid-19 subtext and thought this was just a post about ska lol.
it's inevitable. The real question we should ask is how long we will have to wait for the fifth
it could definitely be around the corner. people are gonna want to celebrate the end of covid and there's nothing like the sweet sound of an up-picked guitar and tooting horns to get your spirits high.
I don't really know what "waves" are I just like music that rhymes :penguin-dance:

If you can't click, it's Gov Cumo talking about Covid but with the caption MY OPINION ON SKA and he says:
"I don't want a second wave, I don't want a third wave, I don't want a one-and-a-half wave, I want this to be it"
this also matches my actual opinion on ska, once the white craft brewers got ahold of the genre it was over.
Jeff Rosenstock posted a ska cover art of his last album on April first with the description "4/20"
I feel like its not a joke but idk
We've had this very discussion 6 months ago and at least according to that thread we're in the middle of one big new 4th wave, with some pretty cool varieties already. I guess if we just keep listening the wave never really ends.
I just hope it gets popular again, if I put ska on when I'm drinking with my buddies they look at me funny.
Remember how when the vaccine started coming out, the media was like "This is it! Soon covid will be over!" And now it's like "discussing the possibility of a fourth wave."
