Now all this will not really cause much hassle to the government, but if you hate them as much as I do you’ll take the view that every little helps and each act of resistance is worthwhile and can be an individualist end in itself. Above all it’ll make you feel good, kind of like when you send heavy things to freepost addresses. Abuse the force.

this is :LIB: individualism, the census is necessary to accurately appropiate welfare/education/public services. Resistance for resistance sake is chauvinistic and out-of-touch.

Well it's pretty honest portrayl of Malcolm X and it does highlight some interesting arguements over intersectionality between race/class through Malcolm at times. If anything the movies politics skews firmly towards Malcolm X's position. Also if you haven't seen it yet Judas and the Black Messiah is great, I also recommend.

I liked it, although I do think the way the movie is presented reminded a lot of the movie Fences in the 'you can tell that this is based on a play' rather than as a more traditional movie per say. Still it was an highly enjoyable and the ending I found really well done. I recommend seeing it if you ever have the time!

  • Well I do think that's the same thinking that many activists/Labour were thinking, remember Ed Milliband got tarred and feather by the press for his supposed ties to the SNP (even though thats false). IMO Labour was entering into one of the most politically challenging courses due to the loss of Scotland, and the failures to properly address it from Corbyn's leadership (not pushing federalism enough for instance) did not help. Of course with Keir in charge I would suspect a very slight/minority Labour government, but that won't happen for another 4 years, I will be interested in seeing how the SCG (Socialist Campaign Group - the likes of Zarah Sultana/John McDonnell) adapt to this circumstance.

  • That's true, but there was also an expectation that Corbyn would be able to 'win the arguement' for why Labour in Scotland should return to dominance (increased welfare/federalism). The expectation was increased following the election of Richard Leonard as the Scottish Labour leader (pro-Corbyn), and as such the resulting electoral blowout in Scotland made Corbyn's leadership even more tenuous.

  • What? The only DSA-related support for Joe Bident only comes from this members form which explicitly outlines it being a members initiative not a broader organisational one: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeLowxXwuJhiRNznw057xOiRpY05AeY1-WeKWkDxj9DrfyVxg/viewform?fbclid=IwAR1UPcZuAOMOsfGqNnvk0tBjdUm9j1M1PHya1PQ63oHTz8C7UyCTkX4RkAg

Plus: 'IT’S GOOD THAT DSA DIDN’T ENDORSE JOE BIDEN' (https://socialistcall.com/2020/10/26/its-good-that-dsa-didnt-endorse-joe-biden/) 'Why DSA is Not Endorsing Joe Biden' (https://midwestsocialist.com/2020/09/18/why-dsa-is-not-endorsing-joe-biden/)

Jimmy Door? More like Jimmy Bore 😏

  • When you also factor how certain environmental factors (like those caused by microplastics) can disproportionately affect minorities which also result in endocrine disruptors, it becomes necessary to diminish the status of the Europeanised standard of beauty. The societal precondition is not only dangerous for mental health (since it can lead to feelings of societal exclusion), but for physical health as well. I think this should be an area of focus for many leftists, as this illustrates both the callous nature of capitalism, and the necessity of a removing the systems which disempower our minority comrades.

  • By demanding they withhold their vote for Pelosi? It is a targeted campaign to get them to do something.

I agree that this is the case for many of the advocates for the move, like BJG, but Dore has made it a point that the lack of attention that the Squad gave to his show was a point of contention which is obviously distracting from the larger goal since M4A is not dependent on representatives attending a podcast lmao. And sure I get your point about the Warren comparison, but even if the floor vote went through it wouldve been politically killed by the mandatory stipulations of the PayGo, now that that problem has been dealt with I think it is the right time to Force the Vote (or maybe after Georgia elections to ensure that all political blowback falls on the Dems).
