Well, she wasn't. However, for all she knew, the fascists were going to be coming into the building she was at and/or the police present would be sympathetic to them.
Victims of trauma do not all have the exact same reaction to discourse surrounding sexual assault so please be considerate of that before suggesting that anything other than reverence and blind acceptance of a politicians emotional plea is misogyny. There are many women for whom the fact that we’re getting to a point where if you don’t broadcast your trauma on a given subject then your opinion is not considered valid is not something that brings comfort.
