    There's historiography which points to Trotsky's military strategy, during his time as the head of the Red Army, as being a key point for the Bolshevik victory in the Russian Civil War, so that's very commendable.

    If you took his name off the theory of Permanent Revolution, 99% of the self-identified M-L’s on here would agree with the ideas.

    Like how many folks would actually disagree that the national bourgeoisies of the underdeveloped nations, the viceroys of imperialism, have been entirely incapable of leading revolutions for democratic rights?

    He was undoubtedly a leftist, and he was influential enough that pretty much everyone knows his name at least, and that's more than 99.9% of leftists.
