It's really a genre, that despite loving deeply, I've largely aged out of. Watching high-schoolers navigate their love lives is interesting in middle school but when you're in your 20's it's just a bit creepy.

I'd honestly be satisfied if they were just 25 instead of literal children. At least then I can rationalize it as them being adults even if they are a good bit younger than me. So many good stories ruined by appealing to the lowest common denominator.

Edit: Speaking of which, Umineko is pretty good and much less cringy than the average VN novel. Never miss a chance to recommend Umineko.

This is why VNs eventually have to end.

Also please just read a romance novel instead of expecting skyrim to fulfill your emotional needs.

Boo! This is the worst way to do a reality check.

Best way is to cover your nose and breathe in. You can breath through your nose even if covered in a dream. Don't rely on having to remember numbers or clock faces. Your moments of dream lucidity are precious and shouldn't be wasted on checking your watch 8 times because you're not sure if it's still the same.

  • Anyone else have a really edgelordy atheist friend who's only critique of media is "religion bad" no matter what the topic is.

I remember them claiming "Goodbye Mr. A" by The Hoosiers is actually anti-religion despite it being a pretty clear message about a teacher alienating his students by being a logic bro. I'm surprised his brainworms weren't pretzels with all the knots he had tie to reach that point. Literally just :wonder-who-thats-for:

  • I was around 8 and deathly afraid of the dark.

My dream consisted of me in my mother's bedroom in pitch black darkness except for a green glow coming from my hand about as bright as a glowstick. In classic dream non-sequitor logic, Starfire from Teen Titans showed up and said "I promise" before disappearing. That part was probably why I had the green hand but has almost no connection to the rest of the story.

Then, I heard someone moaning in pain. I wondered through the pitch black bedroom and into the bathroom. I was getting closer to the sound and I wanted more than anything to wake up or run away. Instead I kept marching forward until I turned the corner and saw my sister's mutilated body. Her head was on the toilet and her limbs scattered all around. She looked me dead in the eyes and said "Ohhh, I'm all cut up" before I woke up in a cold sweat.

While I've certainly had other nightmares, that one stuck with me the longest and I can still vividly remember how it went even to this day.

  • I think it might depend on how long since you've taken your last one. For me, the first booster was the worst with the second booster being more or less no side effects. However, I got the first two shots and the booster much closer and it was another year for the second booster.

Of course, I got Covid last New Years and only had a mild fever/shortness of breath for a day and then I was asymptomatic so ymmv.
