Apparently, proportionately, their penises are very small compared to ours and we have freakishly large penises for monkeys.

I read somewhere that they're only 10% stronger than a fit man of equal weight. Which isn't nothing but i had thought they were "ha ha i tear your arm off now" strong.

Go look up the results of chimp attacks on humans (even fat, unhealthy chimps in captivity), if you can stomach it. Then come back and tell me a human being just 10% stronger than me is capable of ripping my literal face off with their bare hands.

so i read a thing by a guy that handles chimps and got attacked by one and he said that 'if you think for a second, o no i dont wanna hurt this animal, you are gonna lose your face. if you think, MURDER MURDER MURDER from the onset of the attack, you will win against a chimp just because of your height'

he basically was saying that if you dont immediately go as savage and insane as the chimp is you are at an extreme disadvantage

I think a certain level of aggression comes with being in "I am going to end the existence of this thing" mode. I am considerably weaker than some people but am confident in my ability to rip their face off if you flick that switch.

Chimps probably flick that switch very easily on top of being ridiculously strong.

I get what you're saying, and it's probably true that our hesitation towards aggression and brutality comes into play, but still think this is only part of the story.

Sure, if pressed to the limit/a life-death situation, a weakling like me can do serious damage to just about anyone, but I cannot physically rip someone's face off. And neither can you, and neither can a bodybuilder/strongman. Chimps are built different than us, and so are most animals.

Yeh, sure a chimp might “only” be 10% stronger, but it has special moves like “bite your face off” that we can’t even dream of

People's brains tell their muscles to stop working well before their limits, not sure if chimps have that

They have way lower body fat than us, typically 3-9%

Yeah, chimps are stronger than humans but not in this mystical magical way that people think they are. A human could rip someone's face off too if they exercised all day and had the disposition to do it.

Don't they have a 4th muscle fibre type? Xtra-fast twitch

I don't think so. From what I've read, human muscles and chimp muscles are mostly the same just with different compositions.

Except the old jaws. We gave up jaw muscles for more brainspace.

Yeah ok you're right. They have 67% fast-twitch fibres according to https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.1619071114

I watched a guy on tiktok that spent like a year spending a lot of time walking and running on all fours like a chimp and his triceps went fucking crazy

That's not fair. Chimps have personalities and can form their own opinions.

chimps really look like humans on a muscle level like the hair really hides it a lot
