Hot take: electoralism is a sham, but social democrats like the squad are evidence that at least a minority of Americans have some kind of class consciousness. That being said, I don’t think any socially democratic reforms will be present in the next 10-15 years, with things getting incrementally better while democrats hold office, and us taking a proverbial two steps back for when the republicans hold office. We need to inspire class consciousness, but trying to get americans to read Marx is a lost fucking cause. Information campaigns like the Gravel Institute already understand this; problem is the funding and accessibility of those resources isn’t present. I really think the future of the left lies in co-opting the right’s and democrat’s information campaigns
I’m an undergrad Psych major and from what I understand a lot of mental disorders do overlap, but I don’t think it’s appropriate to call an overlap of personality disorders, addiction, schizophrenia, or autism a sprectrum, even though a lot of causes and symptoms may overlap
Well I just finished Shallow Hal. It had some sweet moments but for a movie about inner beauty its message kind of gets lost by virtue of the fact most of the movie is fat jokes. Jack Black also looks a little like Michael C Hall in this one
