  • I gotta say all the post on that site that go along the lines of "My girlfriend\wife has basic human empathy and I don't, what do?" really drive home how much the supposed Karens are the ones allowing anyone even a half decent life in the suburban hellscape.

I really question how much real buy in sex positive feminist actually had with the mainstream underneath all the media saturation. Even the old sub was like 50/50 on if people supported this stuff and now all the splinter boards are against it except hexbear.

  • At first I arrived at the same conclusion about thinking it would happen anytime soon being cope, but then I remembered the early parts of the pandemic when all the states were stealing covid supplies from each other and having to hide them from the feds who were stealing supplies to resell.

If that is where the underlying relationship between states and the federal government is at I could see a big enough shock setting off balkanization, such as water shortages or other events where the contested supplies are more desperately needed.

  • This also refutes a lot of the common narratives about the way the CIA operates. Assange wasn't an active threat to them anymore and they still wanted to kill him out of spite. They try so hard to sell the image on TV and movies that all this shit is run through a massive process in some dark room full of dozens of computer screens that track every possible threat to the country when in reality it was a couple of guys at a table trying to work out the logistics of a murdering snitches like a mob movie.

The hard part with these questions is if you 1:1 the foreign policy, the nationalism, and religious stuff or not. Like she'll sign off on all this arms dealing, cite her catholic faith as the basis for her healthcare positions, and partner with overt hawks like Warren. Depending on how you weigh that vs. the stuff like her LGBT positions she could place anywhere from UK labour to a german christian democrat.

  • She was already like this before the capitol riot. I think most people would put the change sometime between her protesting Pelosi's office and when she hired Kamala's people. Though even very early on it was noted that she was fabricating a history as an organizer and burying her petite bourgeois roots.

  • Honestly, what do people expect? Even zizek brought up when an anarchist confronted him that almost all of the left's recent growth in the US happened due to Bernie's electoral efforts. People aren't going to ask about long stagnant and obscure orgs that play no meaningful role in public life.

It's because the story broke as someone crying on the house floor which was odd enough to make mainstream news. Most people, leftist included, don't pay attention to anything and didn't even know the vote was happening before hand. Especially here where people yell at you for bringing anything to do with electoralism up.

  • It's an interesting question. Like if the left in the US won how do you deal with the fact that so many areas don't have any industrial capacity or much to trade or how do you manage to field a large enough force to deter counter revolutionary forces from other western countries? Would we enter a sort of HK situation where the groups wanting to claim independence are crushed by the material reality that HK was completely dependent on mainland trade and resources? If we decided to abandon nationalism when at the controls, could we?
