Unjust Depths is pretty much gundam underwater, to summarise it reductively. Mobile suits are Divers instead, all submarines instead of spaceships, all of humanity lives in underwater stations instead of in space.
It's also absolutely rife with high-quality sapphic transgender homosexuality ❤ they don't have hets in the setting usually, the main cast is exclusively queer, like 90% women and probably half of em are trans, it's awesome. The leads also live in underwater communism, which is incredible but you also get to follow the gay & fraught enemies of communism in the imperials :) I can't stop yelling about it because it's so good. It's free and a breezy read, strongly recommended!
A lot of transfemme fiction tends to be depressing or grim by default, so I really appreciate that Depths is pretty much a free shot of trans positivity whenever I desire. The Union seems like such a goodass place to be a transbian...
