2001: A Space Odyssey is a 1968 epic science fiction film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick. The screenplay was written by Kubrick and science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke, and was inspired by Clarke's 1951 short story "The Sentinel" and other short stories by Clarke. Clarke also published a novelisation of the film, in part written concurrently with the screenplay, after the film's release. The film stars Keir Dullea, Gary Lockwood, William Sylvester, and Douglas Rain and follows a voyage by astronauts, scientists, and the sentient supercomputer HAL to Jupiter to investigate an alien monolith.
The film is noted for its scientifically accurate depiction of space flight, pioneering special effects, and ambiguous imagery. Kubrick avoided conventional cinematic and narrative techniques; dialogue is used sparingly, and there are long sequences accompanied only by music. Question for the old heads that I hope is okay to bring up:
I dimly remember one of the founders/important admins of hexbear (was it still ChaCha back then?) being accused of grooming/abuse or something of that ilk (again, dim memory, so I apologize for my lack of specificity and don't mean to make light of it). The admin stepped away from the site for the investigation to avoid the appearance of impropriety, and after some time it was determined that they didn't do it, but they never came back.
So... what's up with them now? Does anyone know? I don't mean to dig up old drama but the memory popped back into my head recently and it's been kicking around in there without an answer
It was beatnik, they said they were gonna step down from admin responsabilities and just focus on the programming side of things, we didnt know much about what happen to him afterward, since then admin and sitemods use alt accounts

Ok disregard I found the username of the person I was thinking of and couldn't find any comments in the discord from them saying those things my memory has failed me or I was bamboozled previously
I had the same thing happen a while back, don't remember the username now, don't believe it was chacha wanna say it started with a q but I really don't remember. They'd posted in the lifeboat discord and said that they didn't like this place (hexbear) and were happy not being involved with it
by "(was it still ChaCha)" i meant was the site still ChapoChat or had we already rebranded to Hexbear by then
