Renting sucks ass, hate it. I lived in a bigger city before where I could specify lgbtq and allies only (there were groups specifically for it). Having some cis or passing person be the face to a landlord is so convenient.
No such groups here unfortunately, and the last time someone I spoke to was looking specifically for lgbtq people they didn't reply for 4 days and then gave me their number to text instead, only to then ghost me again.
(I'm sure they just found a different person to roommate with since it took me a day before I noticed their reply, but it still makes me mad)
