    Talking about autism

So I have always wondered if I was autistic, as I'm guessing most neurotypical people do. Years and years I've thought about it. But I never scored particularly high on tests. Higher then NTs usually might, but not like, super autistic yaknow? And that always felt weird to me. Like I should have scored higher, but the test wasn't quite "right" for me to be autistic (enough, I remember scoring towards the lower end of autistic). Ah well, never the less I'd think. I always kinda wondered in the back of my head if I was "masking". Like am I just coping with it so well they can't tell my power level sicko-laser

Somebody here linked embrace-autism.com the other day and I bookmarked it to look at later. Took the AQ and RAADS-R today (28, 149). Looks kinda high but emilie-shrug you know not that high (especially for the AQ). And maybe there were some answers that were a little wrong or whatever. Then the site recommended I take the Cat-Q test, which specifically targets social camouflaging behaviors. Perfect!

Chat literally not a single question on it made me feel like I wasn't autistic. 151 score. Way higher then any other group, in all categories. So uh, just thought I'd share that with you all. I don't know what to do with this information but I'll probably look more into autism, maybe read unmasking autism since everyone here seems to love it.

    spoiler

In autistic people, the total CAT-Q score and the Assimilation score negatively correlate with well-being. The higher your scores on these measures, the lower your well-being tends to be.

Okay well you did not have to tell me that cri

Once I read what the CAT-Q did, it doesn't surprise me it would catch a lot of cases.

Really one of the best places in general quokka-smile

Yeah I scored about that when I took the CAT-Q and at first I was pumped cause I got a “female” score (I know brainworms) and then I read the spoiler section and was like “oh shit”

Yea I was actually quite happy the test came back with a score I couldn't justify away, but yea that little bit at the end kinda made me realize most people don't put that much work into social interactions. No wonder they wear me out.
