Hexbear is sort of like a village of eldritch abomination worshippers in a Lovecraftian horror story - isolated, insular, entirely wrapped up in their own esoteric rituals and ideas and language, and immediately and collectively hostile to outsiders.

It’s so funny when anyone complains about “echo chambers” when talking about internet communities dedicated to specific themes/topics. If I wanted a dipshit neoliberal yapping I would go back to reddit.

If this were an echo chamber there'd be just one school of thought instead of like fifty. I think there's hoxhaists in here

Some of us have schools of thought so esoteric and irony pilled that we aren't even sure where the bit ends and our real beliefs begin

me being so contrarian and steeped in irony I end up reading theory for joke material making me indistinguishable from a Marxist shitposter on a Russian bean recipe website

Why you gotta call people out like this? Why can't you just let us have our fun?

What a self-tell: "oh no they're acting too not normal in a way that seems exotic and frightening, and they stick up for themselves and don't permit easy colonization and assimilation into subordinate status into my culture. They must be EVIL, like in the old racist white man's treats!"

Fitting that they view people with a different opinion the same way reactionary-era Lovecraft viewed tribal people.

        qt 3.14 deep one gf

If I remember right, the deep ones were all male who mated with human women. Those women are just like....Connecticut fishing town girls.

My favourite bit about Lovecraft was that he voted for Socialist Party, because he absolutely hated the poor and they promised to eliminate poverty.

My favorite is him finding out one of his relatives (his grandmother I think?) was Welsh and completely losing his shit over it, writing numerous letters to his relatives complaining about how they kept this betrayal a secret from him.

If the internet had existed in 1921, Howard would be in the YouTube comment sections on videos with 50 views writing 12 paragraph rage essays over "wokeness" among today's cat owners.

I have never heard someone use such wonderful language to call my mom a race traitor and me an abomination. Also he couldn't function without an adult woman supervising him.

Synthesis. The student protestors are being funded by Dagon. Actually no, that seems like something somebody would say with no sense of humor about it.
