The ETR 600 is a class of trains built by Alstom, and are used on the routes between Roma-Bolzano and Roma-Trieste. The train tilts, using Pendolino technology, allowing higher speeds to be maintained through corners without causing discomfort to passengers. The trains are operated by Trenitalia, originally under the Frecciargento (Silver Arrow) branding used for trains capable of travelling between 250 km/h and 285 km/h, In 2022 they were rebranded under Frecciarossa (Red Arrow) after the Frecciargento branding was retired.

The ETR 600 has also been adapted for use in China as the China Railway CRH5 Hexie. Initially 60 sets were ordered, of which nine were manufactured by Alstom and 51 by CNR Changchun Railway Vehicles. Since, another 80 sets have been created for a total of 140, operating across China's north from Beijing to Ürümqi.

I may have bought the vinyl for NO TITLE. It really got to me in a powerful way ... some of it was so hard to listen to ... some of it was so hopeful ... I am trying not to cry. I will try to listen to their other albums as well but this one will probably stick with me for a long time.

the closest thing I could find to a description of the album was this:

    genocide
    THE PLAIN TRUTH==
    we drifted through it, arguing.
every day a new war crime, every day a flower bloom.
we sat down together and wrote it in one room,
and then sat down in a different room, recording.
NO TITLE= what gestures make sense while tiny bodies fall? what context? what broken melody?
and then a tally and a date to mark a point on the line, the negative process, the growing pile.
the sun setting above beds of ash
    while we sat together, arguing.
the old world order barely pretended to care.
this new century will be crueler still.
    war is coming.
    don’t give up.
    pick a side.
    hang on.
    love.
    GY!BE

    so beautifully said..

This is how Godspeed feels for me too. It is just such powerful art. If it is ever available to you, try to see them live. It is a transcendant experience.

I love godspeed posting, so please tag me if you ever feel the inspiration. trans-heart

Last thing, listen to the last track off their record God’s Pee at State’s End. It has left me almost overtaken with emotion when it hits right.

I listened to G_d's Pee (lol, it was letterized like that) and I liked it too. F#A#'s second track hit me hard though, jeez, even the name of it really got to me, used to drive through it every day...

The car’s on fire, and there is no driver at the wheel…

Their early stuff including F# A#, Lift Your Skinny Fists, Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada and to a lesser extent Yanqui UXO(this is my current favorite of their early/pre 10 year hiatus) are all such consistently good records.

Most prefer their early stuff and I get it, the post hiatus stuff speaks to me more likely cause the latter of it came out when I experienced my own political awakening and it still fills me with that radical hope to keep pushing. I also just love that an explicitly anarchist 10 piece(8 musicians, 2 projectionists) touring outfit can exist in this day and age against all odds.

Also they have been touring with this(not my picture)

OK so, I have now listened to several albums. G_d's pee (lol), NO TITLE, F#A#, Slot Riot... I feel like I may have told you already about some of it ... they were all impactful in interesting ways.

I loved Slow Riot Track 2 Person, although it was absolutely desolate when the interviewer asked how they foresee the state of America five years in the future, knowing that the album was from before the millennium, and for the response to be basically "I can't even imagine it" jeez...

I was talking to someone about the job market yesterday ... I got full-time jobs 15 years ago just by filling out my resume with odd programming jobs and using my dad as a reference, but these days if you don't have a degree and do multiple co-ops it's really hard to get in anywhere. Track 2 Person was right...

I have to ask - what is a projectionist? And yes, I was talking with someone about trying to find records of theirs and she said that basically every record store has GY!BE in it. First, I was like "oh yeah, I think I did see UXO in my local record shop..." and then second I was like "HOW?!" just like you said...

But I hear you - I listen to some other ambient music, but nothing is like NO TITLE, for me it's because I'm living in NO TITLE right now. Even G_d's Pee didn't get me as hard (although like you said, the last track was good... our side has to win, indeed. such powerful shit...)

Good photo, too :3 thank you for the rec again...

I totally understand that feeling of living in the record. They capture that so well, which I think is why how their most recent records being hopeful has hit me so hard. Like in spite of everything, people are out there because we have to win. There is no other option. Idk, I find something in that struggle beautiful and it makes me get emotional with Godspeed’s music like no other….

Their post hiatus stuff has less narrative tape recordings but the sounds of protest and someone shouting ALLELUAH ALLELUAH goes so hard in G_D’S PEE.

If you ever just need a fucking banger, the tracks mladic and we drift like worried fire go unbelievably hard, same with the whole record asunder. Luciferian Towers is them flirting with more ambient stuff, but I still love it. Here’s a good example of their projectionist! They literally have a bandmember for live shows that projects tape loops over the band. https://youtu.be/oB1DXip7rO8 I love that they credit their projectionists as full band members even on the recordings.

So happy to convert another transfemme to the cult of GY!BE anarchist-occult
