People are forced to cultivate it. People are forced to traffic it. And people are killed over it. Buying cocaine in the US is contributing to institutions that are violent and reactionary.

If you refuse to buy illegal drug for moral reasons, then that's great! But it's the moral equivalent of recycling. It does nothing to solve the root problem, and mainly just provides a sense of moral superiority while shifting the blame to individuals.
