“Just reaffirmed the need for economical populism to win electoral victories”

So basically a tucker Carlson-esque grift to lure the rubes in. So much for moving Magas to the left.

i do not understand this new trend of adding -oid to the end of everything they don't like

I've been irritated lately seeing more non-leftists using the term "leftoid" as if it's just a more insulting way of saying leftist, without realizing it makes it sound like they're attacking someone for not being leftist enough

Luckily it outs whoever said it as being way too extremely online to regard their opinions with any relevance to the real world. Also it's gotta be incels, right? Like when they call women "femoids"

It's fascist. Seems to me like adding -oid to something goes back to race science and general fascist essentialism.

It echoes the language that was used to categorize groups of people as if they were a "race" or had some innate/biological part that made them that way. the suffix -oid implies a resemblance to something that came before (so there is some sense of heredity or something genetic/biological), but it's an incomplete or degenerated resemblance, words with this kind of suffix seem to be an even more insulting way of describing a person or group : implying they are part of an essentialised stereotypical group that's degenerating and is inferior.

Given a lot of the Edgelord diaspora tracks back to 4chan at some point it’s probably from “femoid” being used to disparage women and then they just appropriated it for other groups

Gotta add in a hint of old timey racism and phrenology somehow.
