in case you ever thought i was exaggerating when i said leftists and otherwise very oppressed people also are disgustingly racist towards Roma. what a joke.
It's mind-blowing to me the degree that open racism towards Roma is pretty much the norm in Europe, like people don't even try to hide it. Disgusting shit
Yeah, here in Aus the Murdoch press occasionally tries to pull some shit about "foreign Roma criminal gangs!" But honestly people couldn't care less, possibly because Australians are already racist to so many people we can't find the time.
what the fuck. the entire profile reads like someone who's "tired of the idpol shit". i'm sorry for what y'all go through. oppressed people can sometimes make the worst oppressors.
When I saw the bio, I was expecting to scroll down and see they were actually just a conservative who put that in their bio (that's now like... a thing people do on right twitter now). But no, sadly they do genuinely seem to be a leftist, just a bad one :|
In the name only*, you can't call yourself a leftist and at the same time claiming a group of people aren't actually people. The ideology is pretty much set in stone when it comes to minority/human rights, and if you can't comprehend that it's pretty hard to call this anything else than just taking on the aesthetics of leftism without actually understanding the thought behind it.
Yuck.
OP, before I was exposed to your posts, all I knew about Romani was "deep in the forest there is a glen, where gypsies play on the violin" along with some "whirling and twirling", and then some unflattering portrayals in Tintin comics. You've filled a large gap in my understanding of European history.
Also I dug into the architecture twete, because.
Those balconies are really cool. The multiple-tiered roofs look kinda extra, but such is art- also, I wouldn't be surprised if the impression of additional "sturdiness", like a thick helmet, was intentional in the character of it.
how does a self-proclaimed indigenous person of north american decent have basis to hate the Roma? I am completely baffled trying to connect these two.

Whenever I see any mention of Romani people on social media, it's usually followed up with foaming-at-the-mouth, hateful drivel like this. I can only imagine how mentally and emotionally exhausting it is for someone actually of Roma descent.
Part of what initially drew me to genuine Leftism in the first place was the staunch opposition to racism, going all the way back to the SPA and CPUSA in the early 20th Century. Learning about the less-than-ideal racial history of those groups (Courtesy of J. Sakai), as well as more socially-reactionary strains of Left Wing thought, was sobering and this just reminds me of that. The revolution needs to be every bit social as it is economic.
