SRA catches a lot of libs who just want a non-racist gun club, consider it a chance to radicalize them
Or moving beyond just cops to racist assholes in general, how the right turned George Zimmerman into a celebrity (to the point of having him sign packs of skittles!) for "standing his ground"
https://youtu.be/lQZqyBDoJd8 I hate seeing or hearing ignorant comrades. Here's the video so you don't go "well I read", "well from the conversation I gather", "as far as I know". I hate pigs but I hate them for valid reasons.
Let's start with this:
- Every police killing is presumptively wrong.
- All other options should be exhausted before the cops start shooting. And yes, this includes pigs putting themselves in danger (that's the job) and risking a bystander possibly being injured.
- There are countries where beat cops don't carry guns at all, and cops in those countries also deal with these situations.
Now let's go through those one by one for this situation:
- We have about 10 seconds of police video. We don't have anything close to the full story, and we should assume cops are releasing information that seems to justify their actions and withholding information that would call it into question. If anyone thinks 10 seconds of body cam footage is enough to say this killing was 100% justified, I just don't know what to tell you.
- Where was the taser? Where was the pepper spray? Where was taking a few steps forward and restraining a literal child? Why was a gun the very first option, especially in a situation where the cop could have easily killed both people?
- If police in other countries can handle this situation without immediately shooting somebody, why are we tolerating this?
We have about 10 seconds of police video.
Which is the entire situation! The footage goes from the cop getting to the scene, leaving his car and shooting the girl. What else is there to see?
Neither the taser or pepper spray will instantly stop someone, especially when they are about to assault someone with a knife. Four shots seems excessive, but shooting someone who's about to potentially murder someone else doesn't feel like it should be something that people focus on when criticizing the police.
edit: i just realized i don't care enough to argue over this. fuck cops. using this as an example of poor police work is counterproductive though.
do you really not see the difference between harming someone harming others and letting someone defenseless get harmed?
getting stabbed several times is very likely to get you killed tooBecause those 4 bullets definitely couldn't have hit somebody else, like the person directly behind her
fed shit
Lol the cop could have easily killed the other person behind her firing like that
" i just realized i don’t care enough to argue over this. fuck cops. using this as an example of poor police work is counterproductive though." This, once we start using shitty flimsy examples of how pigs suck our position falls short and movements lose credibility, comrades falling for an obvious trap.
Lol this shows you where the mentality of the American populace is
The UK has plenty of knife crime, do you see them just busting down shit and shooting a few caps into people?
I've never seen a video of British police in a similar situation, but I'm pretty sure most police forces in countries as violent as the US would consider using deadly force against a knife-wielding person about to stab someone.
You've never seen it happen, yet you're assuming that it would go the way you think. Are you dumb?
No, I just decided I would be honest. Do you happen to have any videos of British police (or any police force) dealing with a knife-wielding person about to stab someone?
No, because no such video exists. What do exist are multiple stories on google re: UK police disarming violent knife wielders without lethal force.
And really, you needed to get 4 hits on this girl?
So, in your own words, "you’re assuming that it would go the way you think"? All of the UK police videos I've seen the person being arrested is only a danger to police officers, in this case they actively trying to stab a bystander.
But yes, 4 shots does seem excessive.Yes, because assumptions made from the fact that UK police don't have body camera footage of killing someone over knife crime is the same as you talking out your ass about what countries "as violent as the US" do
There are no good takes on this incident and I'm surprised it wasn't totally dropped once the body cam footage came out.
You can tell who didn't watch the video in that thread.
