I looked it up and there's a lot of very informative videos on baking on youtube so I think it must be them.
Probably about negative 6 years or so. Hbomberguy was already doing it in 2015, as were others. Can't tell how much we're joking around, but a lot of breadtube initially came into the mainstream because of Gamergate.
HBomb was how I finally learned what GamerGate was. For ages I never read the articles about it and just assumed that it was a real news story and not just an excuse to harass women in the boys-only clubhouse.
