some states now have laws allowing police to run over protestors in america so its hillarious how the instance of someone standing in front of a tank ,getting to talk with the PLA member and not getting run over and leaving is the evil secret authoritarianism that will make chinese people disappear from the internet

That's what's been on my mind a lot. Not a chance in hell if something like that were to happen in the US would that guy walk away. He would have been shot or straight up ran over immediately at worst and best case scenario arrested and imprisoned for years for assaulting an officer.

We're just going to end up going full circle. Tankie will describe the broader anti war, anti regime change left and ironically the only people who don't actually want to send in the tanks anymore.

Every time I see a headline that says "Pro Democracy Hong Kongers Stand Up To X" I just remember what Joshua Wong and his nerd friends look like and chuckle :le-pol-face:

The whole game is rhetorical, from the American angle. And "western communists" undermine the "America is coming to your rescue if you just revolt hard enough" narrative.

The only thing trots actually do is teaching libs how to be better anti-communists, like he literally invented horseshoe theory.
