I just don't understand the cult of personality around a mediocre white guy hopped up on pseudo science who barely understand psychology to begin with. There's psychologists out there putting in real work and helping people and yet redditors obsess over beef and benzos guy. History will not remember him, in fact they're going to be pretty critical of him.

he's an emotional, authoritative, and charismatic speaker, he was persecuted by the Woke Mob, and most of these guys have literally never thought about philosophy at all, so even broaching the topic makes someone seem like a thinker tantamount to Socrates to them.

Jordan Peterson, the hero who fought an imaginary misgendering ban, the equally imaginary spectre of cultural marxism — and eating your vegetables.

Clean your room, wash your penis, any woman who wants to be anything other than a stay at home mom is unknowingly hurting herself and society, be nice to cats, focus on your own self progress :jordan-eboy-peterson:

I bought that book a long time ago, never read it, then realized what it was as I started becoming a leftist. Only time I've ever done a book burning.

The core message is literally just "Try to think about what the other person wants and feels strongly about". Does it need to be a book? Nah. But it is about empathy and trying to put yourself in the shoes of the person you are dealing with. There is far far worse stuff out there.

My boomer relatives. Lmao they’re bluemaga and talk about how much they hate republicans while believing Jordan Peterson without a critical thought.

Just goes to show that the competent trump will be someone like Peterson. A lot of criticism, but is able to shield it with a facade of sophistication through their title

Future world socialist society will have laughing sessions where they just laugh at reactionaries who are just too silly to deserve actual disdain

Unfortunately our society has nothing to say to a lot of young men. We despise them and want them to go through life lost. This man identified a void and jumped into it. We should have had something for these lost young men, but we just chuckled that they were lost.

Straight white guys are on the top of the "privilege hierarchy", but unfortunately, they don't understand that.

Something that oppressed minorities tend to have that straight white guys don't is a sense of community and solidarity. We have "our people", basically, and at least to an extent that can give a sense of belonging.

Those guys don't have that. Now, they also don't face any oppression whatsoever and will generally get baseline preferential treatment, but they aren't aware of that, they just see what others have and they don't. Then they see liberal media constantly praising minorities and they constantly hear how terrible cishet white men are, maybe they even see a person of color become a quota hire or something.

These people feel lost. They think "if white privilege is real, why do i feel like shit?"

And then some clown like Peterson comes and is like "It is me, Professor Smartman, and I am here to tell you that indeed, you guys are the most oppressed, you can read all about it in my book."

Say what you will about Contrapoints, but her way of reaching out to these kinds of people played a big part in growing online leftist spaces. As dumb as it is, they're a demographic that matters if you want to accomplish pretty much anything.

Yeah they do. It's called racism.
