How??? Like I just can't get in the mindset, all it has to mean is Palestinian people will finally be free and able to live in dignity and safety. The death of Jews is not a necessity to accomplish that! It wouldn't even make sense, all it'd mean is the end of Israeli privilege and the colonization project (note the distinction between being Jewish and citizenship or Israel).
The only thing I can kinda see is that they're afraid the same violence and death they deal to the subjugated and oppressed will be returned to them - and if that scares you, then stop fucking doing it!

If Palestine is one state that means Israel no longer exists as a state. That means there is no longer a Jewish ethnostate and, to an ethnostatist (word?), this is akin to "genocide." The "dilution" of their preferred ethnicity is the same as genocide.
It's exactly the same as whites who think whites becoming not the majority race/ethnic group in the US is the same as genocide (aka white genocide or great replacement theory).
The only difference are the perceived perpetrators.
For US white genocide theory, it's proposed that "the Jews!" (Classic) are orchestrating it. Or perhaps some cabal of South Americans and Mexicans.
For Israel the perceived perpetrators are Islamic nationals or just Muslim majority nations who seek to see the end of the Jewish people not just in Israel but worldwide.
Obviously both "theories" are batshit and held up only by irrational fear and racism.
The reality is shifting demographics are a natural phenomenon (such as the US is seeing) and not controlled or orchestrated by anyone or any group and why is it important to maintain certain ethnic demographic proportions anyway? Pure racism. Israel commits the crimes of apartheid, ethnic cleansing and genocide (actual) all in pursuit of maintaining their "Jewish ethnostate."

I think they see dilution as something that would immediately lead to actual genocide. They think Palestinians would just, collectively go on a murdering spree of every single Jewish person the second they're not locked away and starved.

I'd say the less racist (although this is purely subjective because they're all racist) are people who believe what you just laid out. If one is propagandized into the myth of "Arabs (Palestinians, but Israelis don't like to acknowledge their existence as a people) are all bloodthirsty and their religion says they must kill us and look at Oct 7!" then there's some logical, perhaps... "reasonable" fear there. I'm not agreeing, to be super clear, just saying I can see where the mindset comes from. They're lied to their whole lives and only see what internal Israeli media wants to show them of these "cages animals," so naturally uncaging the animals is death to them.
The more racist, imo, are those I described originally. They might believe the above stuff too, maybe, maybe not, doesn't actually matter because their reasoning for apartheid and wanting to exterminate Palestinians isn't so much based on ideas of barbarity but moreso based on ideas of Jewish supremacy which is sort of the entire basis of Zionism especially post WWII in Israel.
The idea of many Zionists, certainly the ones who ended up in control now days was to build a martial state for the Jews and the Jews alone. You uphold that racial purity by systemically making the existence of Palestinians harder and harder and more and more illegal to just... Exist. The hope being they lose their will to continue struggling and leave Palestine completely.
I think the fact that 80 years of constant subjugation and the fact that the Palestinians still resist and have the ability and the willpower to pull off attacks like on Oct 7 seriously just pisses off the most racist, Jewish supremacist elements. That's the reason for this absurd amount of genocidal retaliation in Gaza and the West Bank. Not unlike how slave masters reacted when slaves dared to organize an uprising. Retribution had to be swift and brutally harsh to break any will to even consider such an act again for generations.
But yeah, these types are obsessed with Jewish purity, racial hierarchy, even within Jews themselves (basically the more brown you are the lower you are on the inner-Jewish totem pole and non-Jews, especially Arabs and Palestinians most of all, are the bottom).
It's actually insane and simultaneously completely unsurprising that the US and apartheid South Africa were best buds with Israel. Same ideas, just different race substituted in.
