Or things they can interpret as cool and based even if it's a huge stretch. Everyone is queer coded in some way or another as well.

I've always known BreadTube to be a subreddit, long before people were using the term as a general descriptor for leftist youtubers. I'd say if a video is posted on /r/BreadTube, then it's part of BreadTube.

wrong, CTH used to be fuckin libby then the tankies and anarkiddies bullied everyone to stop being :LIB: s and read theory - in the form of dank memes. That and the constant struggle sessions in educating everyone that socialism is not when the government does stuff, and the soul-crushing defeat of everyone's favorite Rosa-backstabbing succdem Bernie finally stomping the last utopianist belief in electoralism.

And probably some chud posting their hog after getting bullied.

YouTube was known for being an absolutely squalid cesspool of low-effort right wing bullshit. Suddenly a bunch of media commentators started making well-made videos with various degrees of left-leaning politics, which was a very nice change. This happened during one of the various Bread Book revivals, so it was dubbed Breadtube, and lauded as the start of an important cultural movement. Later it turned out that most of it was one extended friend group worth of film students. Internet leftists, ever obsessed with labeling Thing Bad or Thing Good, continue to argue to this day over whether Bread Tube is good or bad, or whether the individuals in it are good or bad. Reddit, ever obsessed with chasing a thing that ran its course years ago, also has a community dedicated to declaring new things Bread Tube.

YouTube personalities, often political and media commentators, who aren't outwardly racist and sexist... most of the time.

It's a tube where bread comes out at one end. Every bakery has one.
