I was about to ask if it was a parody, because it actually looks like something I'd want to play. Shame that it's not.

It sucks man. People take the right's word as gospel, but they almost always get Jester's privilege when held to scrutiny.

      (((THEY)))

Alex has always been self aware, he's an entertainer first. His only real ideological stance is selling stuff to rubes

Fyi, im p sure triple parentheses are against the hexbear rules, no matter the context. Might want to rephrase it

        But yeah it's a grift, you're right.

I had no idea, I was just doing that to show what I think the gamemakers mean with the layout of that title.

The big "they" feels like it's trying to evoke anti-semitic feelings.

Oh, he's genuinely a right wing bigot that hates Jews and Muslims. He lies to create a narrative to get his audience on board with his politics and to scare them into giving him money.

I would say that he is still self aware about it, he knows what he is, he knows the game. His whole schtick relies on his persona though and marinating that requires him to be self aware.

I was going to comment that this looks awesome but upon reading the other comments here, is this really not a joke? Like there's no way the people who made this actually take him seriously, right?

The ridiculousness serves a couple functions, but yes they do actually take him seriously. It functions as effective advertising ("hey, check out this hilarious game, who actually believes this stuff??") which can spread it more easily to the kind of person who does believe this stuff.

It's outrageousness is also self selecting, because it's able to pretend it doesn't really believe this stuff to liberals. For people who believe even a little bit of this and can look past the funny stuff, it becomes a kind of self selecting thing, like you're able to self select what's really a joke and what's not. It's kinda like those scam email chains where it selects for people who would believe something like what it's saying, and everyone else who thinks it's ridiculous moves on

If I were making this game, you'd start with a little pistol taking on small stakes conspiracies. You'd continually get bigger guns and more explosions as you start going down the rabbit hole. You'd go through the matrix, you'd fly a Star Fox ship into space for galactic war, until you finally unravel the simulation and your gun is puking geometric rainbows over 3/4th of the screen against some polygonal approximation of Satan.

I'm sure toxic masculinity gets in the way of it.
