update: after crying and talking with mom, I took half an edible and decided to try to go with my pretty modest original plans for the day. Basically, we went to a nursery I like because I've been into gardening lately, and bought some seeds and other supplies, Taco Bell for a snack and a slushie cause it was happy hour, then drove that stretch of the 101 and listened to music because at my first job, I'd often have to drive it every day to deliver stuff to a UPS Store, so I put on the music I was listening to at the time for some Nostalgia. I was also gonna buy an energy drink from the tobacco shop next door to the UPS Store like I used to do, but they didn't have any good flavors so whatever. Anyway then we took Malibu Canyon to the beach and drove down PCH a bit and then stopped on the beach to admire the waves and I just rambled about stuff. Took Topanga Canyon back, stopped at a few stores for errands, and finally, picked up my Big Birthday Meal from my fav BBQ place (I'm trying to eat less meat but dammit let me have this one). Also ice cream to go! And even a bar of "triple milled italian soap" for etc reasons (press 3 to hear them). We're gonna eat it and watch a movie right now. So yeah, disregarding everything before 2 PM, I'd say today ended up being a pretty great day!

I know it's probably presumptuous of me to @ everyone who had responded in the last thread, but I figure if you cared enough to say something there, you'd want to be updated.

basically a while ago I went to a nice botanical garden and in the gift shop they had these fancy vegetable oil soaps from europe in really nice paper wrappers but they were expensive so we didn't get any, but I was remembering them this morning and then when we were at the nursery today I saw they were selling them, even the exact same brand, on clearance, and wanted to get one but it had been sitting in the sun and melted inside the wrapper, also the scent wasn't my super favorite, so I left it. Later we went to Marshalls though and they didn't have the exact brand but they had a bunch of similar paper-wrapped soaps for cheap and I got one (specifically White Musk scented, which I couldn't quite pin down the reason for but it reminded me of fall semester 2017. no idea why, not like we had those flowers growing on campus AFAIK??)

Its always fun to find a nice smell that triggers a vague memory or feeling you have haven't thought about in a long while. Hope you enjoy your soaps and food.
