I assume that they also consider people under 21 to be too immature to raise a child, and therefore provide easy access to abortion services, right?
In addition, I assume that, if I were to look at the history of every politician who supported this, I would find that none of them has ever done anything sexual with a person under the age of 21, right?
Easy access to CPS transferring your newborn into a private adoption service
Old enough to go murder for an oil companys bottom line but can’t stand in a room where a naked titty might be.
I imagine some of the displaced workers will turn to “back pages” and cam work, etc. - more sexualized work than dancing and potentially less safe
It's almost like capitalism wants an entrenched servant class that exist to serve boaters treats.
If the strip clubs are no longer "barely legal", they will lose the key libertarian sex pest market.
A lot of libs will go along with this as protecting the “young” from this unwholesome environment
The amount of SWERFs on that thread is disturbing
It happens any time a sex work post comes up. It's something that this site needs to work on for sure.
This is a meaningless law without an attempt to either fund education or guarantee work at the same rates as before for these displaced youth.
It's an effort to channel young women from the exploitative but lucrative sex industry into the exploitative shit-payed retail service sector.
Might as well call it the Save Hooters Act of 2021
or into illegal sex work so Matt Gaetz and the Epstein crew have fresh meat
Definitely likely, although I suspect the sinister motivations are more banal.
Strip clubs are already clearing houses for pimps.
No beer, no titties, no ass, but capitalism is all about individual choice..... :jokerfication:
seems pretty good to me. sex work is exceptionally exploitative, and keeping that out of the reach of people who are making important decisions about their life trajectory is a good idea.
:downbear: capitalism (especially in the fresh hell of texas) is exceptionally exploitative, and forcing people who are making important decisions about their life trajectory into the worst forms of wage slavery... ain't good, chief ;)
sex work is more exploitative than other forms of work
The immediate material consequence for many women (and some males too) is immediate unemployment and placement into a more precarious economic position
there's no way to make progress eliminating a reactionary and sexually coercive industry.
It will simply result in them doing more unregulated and unsafe sex work
i'm not convinced that strippers will move to unregulated sex work. that seems like a massive "gateway theory" style leap in the intensity of the work being done. most will probably just get a different type of job.
yeah it's great when working class young people....lose their jobs and unemployment benefits
ok cool
This is the same dumb shit they say about drugs, trash prohibition logic
people under 21 should not be allowed to purchase heroin
where do you draw the line between that ^ and the libertarian convention video where they said that kids should be able to buy it?
correction to the reply: they want you to DIE. they don't need your labor, they want you to die or be warehoused in prison camps forever.
They already do. Prisoners do tons of jobs that used to be done by non-imprisoned people. Many other jobs have gone to countries with cheaper labor.
