Seeing a lot of the epstein-brained leftists fall for this hook line and sinker.

"Well the evidence shows that it's at least 50% likely"

No sir it's literally the LEAST likely origin :jesse-wtf: everybody knows virology all of sudden

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the lab leak theory basically say that the virus was isolated in nature and then brought to the lab for research? Even if it was true I don't see how that changes anything. It would still be human error involved and not some insidious scheme from China to destroy the world (like why the fuck wouldn't you just release it in the US, EU etc). It sure as shit wouldn't absolve these large countries for their failures to deal with the virus either.

It's bollocks because it's based on extremely thin, circumstantial evidence. Some doctors who worked at the lab had to go to the hospital for flu-like symptoms... and that's about it. I've not seen a shred more evidence than that. Nothing indicating that their medical check up actually brought up a diagnosis consistent with the COVID-19. No comparisons or analysis of safety procedures at the lab (it's simply assumed that they fucked up). How the fuck is this in any way convincing?

And don't kid yourself that acknowledging "human error" is where this shit stops. The imperial propaganda machine is working full-time to manufacture consent for Cold War 2.0 and "they made an honest mistake" will be used a a fig leaf the same way that "I don't hate the Chinese just the CCP" to cover up the raging genocidal boner of Western chuds.

Nah I definitely know where it's headed propaganda wise. Just pointing out disingenuous blue maga bullshit

There are several theories under the umbrella, people seem to pick which one they're referring to based on how convenient it is at the time. The "brought in from the wild" theory is also one of them. From what I've seen it asserts that some miners got ill in 2012, Scientists sequenced it, and it was 90% similar or the exact same thing as a coronavirus called RATG 13, which is 96% similar to COVID-19. The theory still rests on the Wuhan Lab genetically modifying it (which Scientists still agree is extremely hard to do with SARS) then it leaking through great incompetence.

Edit: Even if they managed to tweak the 2012 virus, there's no evidence to say what the first cases got was from a lab leak instead of a spillover from the wild.

I'm so over this shit. I said it before in a similar post, but this will just ramp up sinophobia and no one will have to answer for it

The lab leak conspiracy is pure bourgeois protection. If they could they would have secret labs developing viruses to be weaponised against enemies of the empire.

[America] would have secret labs developing viruses

Bro, we do. America's entire bio"defense" industry, which including the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases headed by Fauci (not even joking when I say 👁️), is also a bio-offense industry, analogous to the DoD.

It's openly acknowledged that the US conducts gain-of-function research to make viruses more infectious or virulent. They claim it's for innocent science and immunology and nothing more, but we're smarter than that. The US has never allowed itself to be inspected for compliance with bioweapons treaties.

Oncogenic viruses are a real thing and they have great potential as covert assassination weapons. I believe that's how they killed Hugo Chavez.

It's just a type of virus. HPV is one example.

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oncovirus

There are other ways to weaponize cancer for sure, such as radioactive isotopes. It may even be as simple as injecting someone with metastatic cells. I've never asked someone with medical training whether that's feasible, but it seems pretty straightforward to me. In Oliver Stone's JFK there is a deleted scene in which prison guards inject Jack Ruby with cancer.

I'm not an expert on oncoviruses. I should have said it "could" be how they got Chavez.

The metastatic cells would have to be immunolgically identical for them not to be immediately destroyed by the immune system.

I see; thanks for the explanation. It's just something I wondered about. Sounds infeasible in that case.

I would love working developing fungal strains targetting US cash crops. Sadly, that's not the case.

Did you know that "Chinese gangs" used armies of drones to spread swine flu over Chinese hog farms during Trump's trade war with China? 👁️

The CIA did the same shit to Cuba during the Cold War, albeit without the drone part obviously. Cuba had long maintained that the CIA deliberately introduced and spread infectious diseases among crops and livestock as well as trying to get people with infectious diseases to travel in Cuba, and recently declassified documents prove that they did in fact do just that.
