Look folks maybe we need to try this whole website thing over again because uhhh... this ain't it.

There's a hardcoded regex that there's been some discussion around, since the project's creator really doesn't want their creation used by bigots. The good news is that any feedback we give can be implemented by our own Chapo devs (do we have a community for that yet?)

I'm still learning my way around so I don't know. The FAQ apparently says we're having elections but I haven't really looked too carefully at it yet. I hope it is clear I was being flip, but maybe the original dev can be convinced to use a different implementation that won't be so prone to unintentional comedy. I mean seriously, it's not like this is the first time a website has ever needed a word filter. This particular technical problem has long since been solved.

Yeah I hear you, there's also another thread about the wordfilter specifically if you take a look

Lol, entitled people: 'But, I'm using your free software that you made in your spare time! Why won't you let me do whatever with it!?'

They'll probably code it so that the word fragment on its own will get censored, but the other words that contain that fragment will not be censored.

It might be the best anyone could do. How do you come up with a regex that catches people using slurs inside other words in a bad faith way? Coming up with a good regex at all is sometimes really hard.
