Disco Elysium, Return of the Obra Dinn, Outer Wilds, Kentucky Route Zero, Hollow Knight, or Hyper Light Drifter.
All great and shouldn't be too hard on a PC.
Dunno what types of games you're into or not, though.
SimAnt. You pretend to be an ant that eats stuff, digs tunnels, and absolutely ruins some guy's lawn.
Seconded, Civ4 with the revolutions mod is the best of the franchise imo
That's one of the few mods I never heard of. Wait, is that the one sub mod that's in C2C?
Link for it: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/revolutiondcm-for-bts.262937/
It allows new civs to emerge through out the game, and for old one's to reemerge. Barbarian tribes will organize new civilizations, civil wars can create new factions, and conquered colonies can reassert independence. You even have the option to switch sides to lead the civil war or the colonial rebellion rather than continue as the civ you started.
Sounds similar but different to the one in C2C. Will certainly check it out. Thanks!
If you want casual stuff, Stardew Valley is usually good for a few (hundred) hours of time wasting. Otherwise there's always pulling out ZSnes or whatever the Nintendo emulator is and picking something from the dark ages...
Just finished Metroid zero mission today. Planning on picking up AM2R tomorrow. As someone who has thought they've hated metroidvanias their whole life it's great to learn I really only hate long metroidvanias.
Metroidvania is only as good as the level designers. I'm guessing you've played Super Metroid? If you haven't it's amazing
Haven't played it yet, will after am2r. Maybe with the GBA ROM hack for it
Acquire Factorio sans payment, the creator is a reactionary.
Grim Dawn. It's on sale at the moment and is way better than I expected.
Only good if you like ARPGS though
Heat Signature is pretty cool. Nice combination of careful planning and frantic action. Works OK on my non-gamer laptop
