I would have said that the less you use it the more frequent random trending bullshit in your area they will push, so if nazi shit is trendy you'll get it.
Then it will start bombarding you with how many gazillion people were manually strangled by Stalin himself while signing peace treaties with Hitler but he was actually worse than Hitler and Hitler was just a well intended dude but also a vegan and a socialist so that's why he was so evil but not as evil as Stalin.
Tbf YouTube's seems to have come down to only a 5-10% chance at nazifying your alg compared to 2015-18
Not to be a Google shill but nothing, really. In my experience all it takes is 10 minutes of scrolling down your feed putting "not interested" on everything even remotely right wing and youtube will leave you alone for years.
The ads will still get you though. I did that and my content is generally pretty good but I still see the stupidest right wing bullshit for ads.

you used to have to root your phone to log in, but they changed it in the last year. now it's a perfect substitute for youtube

Do not dislike bad videos, ignore them. Dislikes boosts engagment. Instead install a youtube channel blocker add-on your browser.
these are adds, not videos. Disliking them means youtube won't(or is less likely to) waste the advertisers' money showing me the adds if I dislike them.
