Truly this site is an ouroboros of the same two struggle sessions eating eachother. Bad faith arguments from all sides about indoor vs outdoor cats and vegans vs whatever pithy description people are using now for people who eat and use animal products.

Nah this site is pretty hard on the China-good-train. There are a few China-not-THAT-good people, the minority of China-bad people have realized it's not worth talking about.
I'm firmly in the China-flawed-and-not-communist-but-what-country-isn't-flawed-so-why-carry-water-for-the-US-state-department train. They've done a lot for eliminating poverty, and are doing a lot for industrializing the nation, absolutely. But poverty elimination and industrialization while also having 700 billionaires does not a dictatorship of the proletariat with the absence of social class or money make. Sectarianism is pointless, and doesn't achieve anything, so it's not worth talking about any more than that. Hopefully they press the communism button soon!
If it's run by a communist party, it's communist. Unless you mean the conditions described by Marx as emerging from socialism, which will never apply to any country because it's stateless and borderless.
I think its more people calling out bullshit that gets said about China and acknowledging something good they did, but the distinction between people is that some will not say anything bad about them (whether they truly believe that or just think they should not) and people who will.
In the past, I have stated my disagreements or issues with them on here and it was not negatively received. Perhaps some people here would not like that.

It was here in July or August of 2020. I believe it was a @BASED_BALL post whose comment thread blew up into an utter shitshow, and B_B spent the rest of their posting "career" trying to recapture that level of forum drama.

Shit, you might be right. Honestly, this site replaced Reddit for me so hard after the CTH ban for everything other than pictures of cats and GL manga recommendations that they're kind of blurred together for me. Not that I'd want GL manga recs from here.
